One of Europe's best kept secrets, Slovenia has so much to offer - Snow-clad Julian Alps, postcard-picture castles, emerald rivers, coastal towns and stunning underground caves. It might sound a lot but you can easily spend a week driving across Slovenia and not fall short of things to do.

Day 1 - Arrive in Ljubljana and head to Bled town

Day 2 - Triglav National Park via Emerald Route Adventure

  • Book a 12-hour guided tour called the Emerald River Adventure with outdoor adventure specialist at 3glav Adventures

  • This full day trip is a great way to explore the scenic Triglav National Park and Julian Alps - Expect hiking, swimming in waterfalls, optional white water rafting and more

  • Return to hotel Penzion Kaps in Bled

Day 3 - Bled Castle and Church of the Assumption

  • Let’s take it easy today, shall we?!

  • Head to Lake Bled Castle - Slovenia's signature attraction

  • Enjoy morning coffee on the top of the castle cafe with stunning views of Bled

  • Take a trip across the lake in a traditional Pletna boat and stop by the Church of the Assumption in the Lake Bled island which sits right in the middle of Lake Bled

  • Drive around to explore the Julian Alps

  • Try a traditional Bled meal at Gostilna Kurej restaurant in Zasip town

  • Drive towards the village of Podhom and look out for Vintgar gorge entrance sign

  • Enjoy a relaxing walk on the Vintgar Gorge trail and head to Church of St. Catherine atop a hill for countryside views

  • Make sure you try the signatory original Bled cream cake at Panorama restaurant or from the drive-In near Garni Hotel Jadran

Day 4 - Village of Kanal and costal town of Piran

  • Check-out in the morning from Bled and start driving towards Piran

  • Stop by for lunch in the quaint village of Kanal on the way - Adventure-seekers can jump into the emerald waters of river Soca from a 17-m high bridge in Kanal ob Soci (seasonal)

  • Drive to Piran - Slovenia's very own Venice (will probably be evening by the time you get here)

  • Check-in to the historic Hotel Piran which is at an excellent location right by the shore - Note that all visitors in Piran have to park cars in the visitor's garage which is outside the entry gate

  • Make sure to try sumptuous, fresh seafood at restaurant Pavel 2 close to Hotel Piran

Day 5 - Explore the town of Piran

  • Enjoy a lazy day in Piran and stroll by the coast with cappuccinos and gelato - It’s the nicest feeling waking up in this local non-touristy coastal town and The Town Walls offer the best views

Day 6 - Explore Slovenia Caves & horse riding at Lipica Farm

  • Check out from Hotel Piran by 8am

  • Drive to Lipica Stud Farm - a beautiful old manor, which is home to the Lipizzaner horse horses - They offer horse riding and carriage rides as well

  • Drive to Skocjan Caves, Matavin - Book tour tickets in advance - It is stunning from inside; (Note that Slovenia has over 10000 caves and if you have time to just visit one, we’d suggest Skocjan)

  • Drive to Predjama Castle for a wiki wiki photo stop

  • Drive to the capital city, Ljubljana, and check-in to Hotel Four Points or Ljubljana Park Hotel

Day 7 & 8 - Explore Ljubljana capital city

  • Take a free walking tour which a great way to explore this charming capital city

  • Check out the trademark Dragon bridge, Preseren Square, Franciscan Church of Annunciation and Triple bridge

  • Try the local pastry Potica​

  • Head to Taj Mahal, in case you are craving for Indian food

  • Take the funicular ride from Krekov Trg to Ljubljana castle for great city views

  •  
  • Time to wrap up Slovenia and head home!
